The Global Educator, by Julie Lindsay

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Psychologists also talk about 'cognitive empathy' which they call 'Perspective taking' which is when a person is able to imagine themselves in the situation of another. We built Empathy when we meet them in person because you are talking to them and they describing their lives and they might has something common in their life that you have. We built Empathy virtually by texting them and asking about their lives. So I think that Empathy is the same if you meet in person and virtually. I think that we need empathy to understand and share the feelings of that person we are talking to. Empathy is so important because you want to understand and share their feeling so you can become friends. I am going to talk to people a lot about myself and what I did in my life and I also will listen to their stories so we can understand each other.
