Video Pitch- Online Learning/Environmental Impact

We open on a school bus picking up children with a diesel truck sounds in the back ground. We then switch to a person just waking up to go down stairs to log on to their computer. We then focus on a janitor who is coming in for the day to turn on all the lights in a school building to start the day quickly moving to a teacher making copies for all her students for the day. (picture of deforestation occurring.) Then we go to a student who is working on the computer on either a K-12 site or Khan Academy working away at a problem. Voice over describing the actions and, also to describe impact like online learning decreases the need for deforestation; and how it decreases energy consumption. Pan to an factory Polluting are then voice over the facts of how online learning decreases energy. Out source clip of someone getting up and logging on to their computer making copies, flipping a switch, and someone doing online learning.

Belinda, This idea is very well thought out. I like that you have worked out the specifics of how you wish to approach your topic. I researched your topic and found some materials that might be helpful to you:

I like your idea of showing how many different environmental resources are used to educate a child and then how resources can be saved by using online learning.  This idea definitely fits with your topic/theme.

Well my theme is the environmental impact not the type of learning styles so it does not need to be addressed in this video.

Great ideas so far.

I definitely like how your examples are very hands on gives your audience visuals to help get your message across. Be sure to discuss how different types of learning styles are better suited for the online learning environment.

Interesting Idea!

You have nice ideas. So much switching around, though. Try to focus more on the online learning aspect rather than the school bus/janitor thing. Other than that, I agree with Julia about adding statics.

voice over the facts of how online learning decreases energy.describing the actions and, also to describe impact like online learning decreases the need for deforestation; and how it decreases energy consumption. The facts are clearly stated in voice overs so adding them will not be necessary.

I really like your ideas and your approach to showing the impact of online learning on the environment. I would only suggest to add some statistics on the direct impact on the environment.
