I feel that this project is very interesting so far. At first i thought it was so confusing and i did not think i way going to be able to do it, but now i understand it and it is starting to become so much fun. I think that this is going to become something that i will always remember. The most interesting part about this project is that we get to meet with other people around the world. I know that i love meeting new people and this is a a way to meet new people and at the same time I am… Continue

As the years go on the technology has been getting better and better, you are able to do more. 10th February 2009 Mashup Videos
A mashup is the combination of two or more data sources to create a unique result. Often involves a map, photo, video and/or news. Mashup’s, are a simpler way to integrate Web-based applications and data in lieu of more complicated and expensive lower-level development.
They could be an asset within education because they could be interactive, creating curriculum activities using Google Earth and using Geographical Survey data… Continue

When our teacher told us about this project I was surprised. I had never anticipate that we will work together with students from other parts of the world. But I thought: "Well, you will survive it." By the way I can exercise to write english.
But now I'm not anymore optimistic. Because I've got no reply of any message. That is why no conversation took place. Furthermore I don't know where I should begin. There are too many information which I could sum up and translate into… Continue

When I was told that my class would be involved in a project that involved making a page on a certain topic with a certain group of people from different parts of the world I was excited in a way. At first I didn't know what to do and now that I've been working on the project for a week or so, I think I understand the concept of what needs to be done and how to do it. I wouldn't say that I'm afraid but I am nervous. I want to make sure that I'm doing everything the right way and that my team… Continue

From a teacher's perspective, it is both an honor and a privilege to be involved in a project of this magnitude and scope. The teachers in this round of the Flat Classroom Project have met and thus far, it seems we all work well together. The introductions among students from varying places of the world have taken place. Students are beginning to get to know each other, although their partners are on the other side of the world. I would not have dreamed this ever being possible when I first… Continue

At first I had some struggles with the topic itself. Well, every start is hard but it was good to get through. I hope that my material which I collected helps the others to proceed in their work and that we can help each other. My aim now is to get from all these information the essential ones, putting them into an easier an more understandable level and at last publicising them. I am really looking forward to writing with the others on the article and getting deeper and deeper in the project.

I think this project could be really good if the tasks were clearer and would not be changing every single day.
A big problem that has occured is that my team partner and group partners are not answering to my mails.
I hope that this is going to be a good project with satisfying results.

Reading and thinking about Emerging Technologies.
The Horizon Reports Advisory Board addresses five research questions that are at the core of the project. These questions remain the same each year and are designed to attract a list of interesting technologies, challenges and trends.
The five questions are:
1. "What would you list among the established technologies that learning-focused institutions should all be using broadly today to support or enhance… Continue

7th February 2009Research
What is research? I believed it was just getting a book or searching the Internet for an interest or topic you wanted to know more about. I did not realise just how detailed it can be!
I have learnt today that when I have researched in the past, I was ill-prepared and had the wrong perceptions about what research was.
I knew to research was to find out about a subject and if results were found to be repeatable, then this… Continue

I have started to read more about my topic and have also started to tag websites on my delious account. Web 2.0 is a pretty neat thing on how we use them tools to share information and send information to each other and around the world. I soon will be tagging more websites later on and try and to understand my topic area.
I think and feel this project is going to help me understand more about how the world is changing and how information is being shared. Things that im afraid about this… Continue

So far on this project, I have no clue what is going on. I think that everything is confusing and unorganized. I wish it would be as simple as everything being on one website. Hopefully, sooner than later, I will get the hang of it.
My feelings about this project and what I did so far is that it is interesting, and kind of fun. I never did anything like this before. I hope that I can understand what I am doing and help out my group as much as possible.
As the project goes… Continue

So far I just started tagging web sites for my delicious account. We really haven't been doing much more then that so far. I'm really excited to get going and start working on this with our groups and get the ball rolling. I'm a little nervous about how we're all going to work together and how everything will turn out but i think it should all work out pretty good. I'm still not that familiar with my topic but I'm reading and trying to learn more information about it and trying to get a better… Continue

At first, I was a little nervous about doing this project. I didn't think it was going to be that fun, and I thought it was going to be a ton of work to do. After getting more into the project, I realized that it could actually be a lot of fun to do! It's a completely new way of learning things and I think it's going to be a lot of fun to meet new people from around the world and interact with them all!
I am a little nervous, however, about not being able to keep up with the other… Continue

This project soo far is going good. I'm in group four referring to Uploading and the Changing shape of the internet. I understand this part of the project it's getting harder but I'm holding in there.
The project isn't fun but it's a lot of work. It helps us communicate with people from far away and around the world. We all can help each other and get this project done. I think it's good that we can ask our team mates for help if we need it and the teachers as well we get a better… Continue

When I was told that our class was participating in the Flat Classroom Project (FCP) I experienced a wide variety of thoughts and feelings. I felt excited about having an opportunity to meet individuals from a wide variety of geographical locations. I was also nervous because I was about to engage in a project I had no information or knowledge about. My thoughts about the project were that it would be similar to anything else in life. There will be some good and bad. Some parts will be simple… Continue
