I have completed my investigation with the design brief and specification as well as two storyboards which I have checked against my design specification and wrote a justification as to why I chose one over the other. I believe that I managed to fulfill the requirements for the investigation well, however in my first draft I didn’t have everything needed. I forgot to include how I would test my project and my bibliography. After I put those things in I was very satisfied with my investigation… Continue

Process Journals - Weekly

Week One: Mr. jones introduced us to this project by watching Mr. Thomas Friedman's video on his book: 'The World is Flat'. He also showed us different articles and opinions on the topic and then told us to create an account in blogger, the ning and to join the wikispace of flat classroom project. On my blogger I wrote about the MYP design cycle and about the flat classroom project. It was a very interesting start of such amazing project.

Week Two: During the second week, I read the… Continue

Week one: In our first week of I.T we looked at the design cycle, and wrote everything we knew about it onto a post in our blog, we then looked at some videos completed by the last I.T class for something we would be doing in the future called The Flat Classroom project. For now all we had to do was comment on the videos, the one video I found to be particularly impressive was about Robotic surgery, I found the video very interesting and imformative. We had to analyze at least two video so I… Continue

Blog Post #2

I agree with Dr.Turner in the fact that the World isn't flat but is on it's way. The reasoning behind this is because everyday newer and newer technology is being made and produced to connect us with people all over the world. A cell phone for example with out it we wouldn't even be able to talk to someone in our town. Now we can talk to people over seas clearly and even send pics and videos on them. This is what makes the world flatter in talking and connecting with people all over the world.… Continue

Week One:

We began our Flat Classroom Project by watching Mr. Thomas Friedman's video on his book: 'The World is Flat'. I to read the wiki article on it, and reflected on the video in my blog. We were to do this by creating an account on Blogger and naming in Grade 10 IT. I also wrote a summary of the MYP Design Cycle and an overview of the Flat Classroom Project in my blogs.

Week Two:

During this second week, I read the summary of Mr. Friedman's… Continue

Reflection of Dr. Turner's Keynote

I found this keynote to be very beneficial. Some examples really made me see Dr. Turner's view of the 'flat world' in comparison to Mr. Thomas Friedman's view.

For starters, the Flat Classroom Conference is a great place to use your imagination, and you can learn a lot from people who share their ideas. Their ideas could possibly have an effect on yours.

His view of the 'flat world' is the following:

He thinks that it is beneficial to students in the sense that… Continue

Week 1

During this week I started off by creating my Flatclassroom Project NING account.

I explored the website thoroughly before I started working on my page. I learnt how to add friends, and started of by adding friends in my own school and class.

I then changed my profile picture so that my partners abroad could see how I look physically. It would provide my partners with more information about me and help them know me better

This week I also… Continue

Week 1:

This was our first week of Information Technology. As this was the last week before the winter holidays, we did not begin anything new. Rather, we worked on understanding the design cycle, which I completed and it is now part of this blog and it is the first entry of my IT blog. After this, I worked on watching and analysing the videos of the other Grade 10 class, so that we could get an idea of what the project was about. I commented and analysed on the video 'Google Takes… Continue

Digital Storytelling

What is a digital story?

Digital Storytelling refers to using new digital tools to help ordinary people to tell their own real-life stories.

What makes a good digital story?

In digital storytelling, your main goal is always to tell an intriguing story. You should always focus on the story, not the technology. "A good story will overcome glitches in technology, but good technology won't do much for a bad story." It is important to plan out your… Continue
