My experience in the FCGP project has, in fact, been very flat. I have not experienced any difficult limitations in reaching out to other people, other than some that may have been given to me by my teacher. There have not been any walls in my way, stopping my learning, which would leave me to believe that it is flat. I have been able to gain information from other people through this project because there have been no struggles or obstacles in the…Continue

My video about makerspaces and society will show how creative new technology can come from makerspaces. It will show how a 3-D printer has become better through its journey in a makerspace. It will show how a place in which people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. My video will show people with shared ideas and different ideas working to better a 3-d printer. It will show their…Continue

In my video I want to show someone that is shy and antisocial. I want to show how the person acts without the virtual reality and how the person acts using the virtual reality headset. While using the headset the person will be asked to try to interact with a numerous amount of people.

online learning is for people that could have disabilities to read and write. so if the computer read the story to the person that's using online learning will have no problem on reading or writing. the person could type instead of write, and they would only have to listen to the story instead of reading to themselves.

Growing up before the technological advancement of recent years, my learning experience has for the most part been flat, Sure we had the occasional pen-pal in Kindergarten and 1st grade, but for the most part we didn't communicate with others outside the state or country (Unless someone moved here from said place). But once technology advanced to the point where we could communicate with almost anyone in the world, I was amazed. I could talk with anyone in the world and exchange ideas,…Continue

I don’t believe my learning was that “flat” until I started my sociology class. Before that, I just stayed in the classroom and spoke to the teacher and the students there. We stayed in the school for the full 8 hours, and didn’t often get to go out into the world. What we did online was with the other students in the class, and never with another school.
Honestly, nothing was that “new and exciting” for this project, at least for me. Despite my…Continue

I consider my learning experiences from the FCGP very ‘flat’. I easily had access to lots of information on my topic as well as others. I was also able to communicate with a lot of different people around the world. Being able to work on a project with people from different states/countries was very new and exciting for me. I’m used to working on things with people around me in person, so being able to interact with others and work on a project online was a very new different…Continue

1. My flat learning experience with this project has been so far really good. I’ve met lots of new people all over the United States and the world. It’s neat to see all of us working together on the same project and sharing our ideas together to further understand our topics we were assigned. I think the only downside to this project is the amount of work that is required but it’s not that bad, I mean at least we're not writing an 6 page essay about a…Continue

1. How "flat" was your learning?
Very "flat," as I was able to connect with people across the nation and across the world, thousands of miles away in just seconds.
2. What was new and exciting to you?
The ability to connect with people around the globe in seconds and collaborate with them on a project is very exciting to me. Sharing my ideas and interests with others is one of my favorite things to…Continue

My learning was not flat during this project because I was able to talk to many different people around the world. I gained many insights on different viewpoints of my topic and theme because each person had something different to contribute
One thing that was new and exciting was talking with different people through the different blog posts. It was similar to other social media I use, but different in the sense that you were able to talk to…Continue

My experiences with the project:
I think that my connection was fairly “flat”, however, it wasn’t as flat as it could be. When talking to others at first, it was strange, but after seeing everyone else talking in the main chat room on the ning and commenting on other posts, it felt like a normal conversation, but a much more sophisticated one.
Although I have typed to others…

How 'flat' was your learning?
In the sense that you get the opportunity to talk to anyone, anytime about any topic is a very useful thing. Although at times you may have to wait a day or two in order to receive anything back. Flat learning is a fun way to communicate to others around the world and get different perspectives on topics that you would have taken into consideration.…

When addressing the question of what it truly means to have a "flat" world, one can analyze the current tools available to students and how they can utilize those tools to work with others from different parts of the globe. With the rise in current technology, students can use these to reach out to partners and fellow students who are otherwise unreachable. This could build real world experience without having to leave the classroom or the comfort of home. Different points of views can be…Continue
