"Very effective good introduction. Good example screens. Your write-overs as the screen progress work very well. Nice guiding questions keep the message moving. Good point – if more maker spaces, then maybe a good logical result would follow.…"
"Energetic music, good screen changes, good design. You got me interested, then I had questions I think you could answer with examples in your video. Examples of what might be invented in a maker space? More on 3D printing? This video shows that you…"
"You used animations effectively. Good transitions and changes. Technically you did a good job. Questions I had: What is the Impact on society? The way you could clarify this is by providing examples, then the viewer will be clearer on your meaning.…"
"You explain your message with both text and images. Good point: you said working together allows us to do things that we might not be able to do alone. By citing the department of education, you supply support for the significance of makerspaces.…"
"Makerspace Video -- In your Powtoon, you explained what a makerspace was and how people gather there, and how people love to create things. You discussed how makerspaces allow us to reuse and to recycle objects and materials. What might be some…"
"The environment is addressed with your opening scene - opens with tree cut field – trees have been removed for paper. The message is that maker spaces can help preserve trees. Then you describe makerspaces: where they are, what they…"
"Here are some comments on your maker space video posted on YouTube: • You relied on text screens to make your main points, and this can be effective. In this case, there was no sound with the video, so the viewer is not as attracted –…"
"Good job using a narrator at the very start – this was your voice, I assume. Paper production related to saving trees was an important idea and creatively connected to maker spaces. How can we save the trees specifically using the maker space?…"
"Comments on your YouTube video: You used contrast with/without to make your opening point, then used it again with the outsourced video.. The hand drawn signs were effective and well-timed. All I needed to know more would have been some examples of…"
"The video has a professional looking beginning with your name among the buildings. You said people in maker spaces work on what they like – what might be some examples of what you mean? Technically this was very well done."
"You have a nice clear beginning, good sound, following the question about the viewer wondering about maker spaces. You bring in the video at the right time after talking about creating products. Good point about friendships and common goals. Overall…"
Here are my comments on your video which was posted on YouTube. Your video was almost all text screens, and while your message was on target, I think you’ would do better to add some visuals early and as well as sound. This will…"
"Emiley – Wires, wires, wires! I appreciate your using so much live video to tell the story. On the graph that was displayed, I see that the number of devices connected to headphones is increasing. Would you say that your focus is on less wires…"
"Hannah – You have provided reasons important to a student’s life as well as for those tracking their health stats. You said that the device would make sure that you never missed or forgot some important happenings. I was wondering about…"
Thanks for the feedback :) and I do apologise for replying so late. I did consider how teachers could adapt the learning in other ways however due to some time constraints and a lack of research and preparation, those ideas were unable to be brought up into my final video.
If done again, I would definitely consider other ways of how Adaptive Technologies are integrated and used by teachers.
Thank you for the positive feedback! Sorry this reply is coming rather late. I don't check my school e-mail very often. In regards to your question, unfortunately, I was unable to get an outsource clip for my video (for whatever reason, my request was never fulfilled). I tried my best to make up for that by using video clips that I found on the internet. The only thing I would've done differently if I could would be that I would've put in more videos that I took myself, and I would've included an outsource clip (obviously).
Terry, I just want you to notice what you've done with the judging. The fact you leave comments on these student videos gives very important feedback. It tells the students that people notice. I helps them know that what they do matter. Well, Terry, you matter. What you're doing matters very much, thank you. You are doing a great job judging!
