One Classroom, One World

Discuss YOUR experiences in the Flat Connections Global ProjectHow 'flat' was your learning? My experience in this project was very flat because I had access to all information at all times and I had people around the world to work with which is the most flat learning I’ve ever had in my education. What was new and exciting to you? Learning what other students used to find information and what their education is like compared to mine. What didn't work and could be improved? Getting connected with…See More

About Me:
Hello, my name is Cassidy. I am a teenage girl with brownish blonde hair and hazel eyes and I am a junior in highschool. I live in a small town outside of Madison. I am an only child and I have one dog his name is Calvin. I live in the suburbs and there is cornfields and farms around my town. I enjoy sports especially soccer. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old. I am looking at colleges now and I am interested in an education major but do not know where I want to attend but know I want to go somewhere in state. I have about 5-6 really close friends but enjoy most of my grade. I don't like ice cream or cheese very much but love milk so not everyone in this state loves cheese or ice cream. I also do not like soda or cake. My favorite restaurants are Olive Garden, Culver's, and Buffalo Wild Wings. I love italian food. I love snapchat and twitter and instagram. I like taking naps and hanging out with friends and family. I am national honors society in my school and volunteer a lot in my community. I tutor a 8th grade and love to work with kids. I also want to travel the world when I get older.

Hi Cassidy, there are so many classes we take to become a teacher. First you have your core classes, which every major takes these classes. Those are your basic classes (math, history, English/writing classes, humanities, science, etc) Then you have your education classes that teach you how to teach math, history, science, etc. As well as classes that teach you how to manage your classroom, integrate technology in your classroom, how to assess your students, how to make lesson plans, and so much more!

It's amazing because we do practicums (we observe classrooms/get involved in classrooms) and its a great experience as well as it helps you determine what grade type you really want to teach!
