I really enjoyed Mr. Langley's examples, especially the video game one (I think it was CoD [Call of Duty])- how we can play as a team and work together over distances. We can talk to each other via headsets. We can interact with each other via controllers. We can ultimately win as a team. I also like how he connected how the business world is already using the techniques that Flat Classroom Project (FCP) is using and we're getting ahead. Students are starting to teach the teachers! I think it's great. When the NetGenEd generation makes its way to the business world, we are going to have immense potential for collaboration and eventually greatness. The FCP is preparing us for the technology- driven business world to come. Now, of course when we send something on FCP we expect a response in about a day, not like international mail which could take forever. Also, if we were doing this years ago, with this age of kids; it would not be as easy as you would think. We are just acclimated more to technology; nothing to be ashamed of! Overcoming dialect barriers and timezones and each other- look what we can do.

Attention all students in the NETGEN project. Our Keynote address is now posted as our feature video on this NING. Watch this and give your opinion on the issues.

The recordings for the NetGenEd student meetings are on the Ning on each Team's group page. The student leaders understood that a lot of students would be on break this week, but wanted to get a united message to the students for the project about communication, collaboration, and what to expect. All students please watch the recording for your group's student meeting. Student Leaders are communicating news, etc. through the Team Ning groups and are communicating work done on the wiki as well as edits needed via the discussion tabs of the wiki. If you have not joined your team's Ning group, please do that as well.

Team meetings: Student Leaders will be leading the meetings in Blackboard Collaborate.

In order to accommodate all time zones involved, meeting times will be listed in GMT – Greenwich Mean Time (check for the times in your time zone) with Mr. Langley’s time zone CDT – Central Daylight Time - in parentheses. Meetings will probably last about 45 minutes. Following are the dates/times propose for the meetings:

If any of you are part of the "Tablet Computing" topic, please join the group's page so we can organize everyone together. Thanks!
